Melanie Boardman

DC

Chiropractor, Wife, Mama, Christ Follower, Aspiring Homesteader

Dr. Melanie’s journey to chiropractic began with a love for horses and a fascination with the body’s incredible ability to heal and adapt. She discovered chiropractic through the equine world and, after earning her bachelor’s degree in Equine Science, she began her chiropractic journey at Palmer College of Chiropractic. She is currently working on her certification in Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy to achieve her lifelong goal of adjusting animals!

Today, Melanie’s greatest passion is serving expectant mothers, postpartum women, infants, and children. Becoming a mother herself deepened her appreciation for the profound physical and emotional transitions of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood, strengthening her desire to provide thoughtful, neurologically focused care during these important seasons of life. She believes that by supporting the nervous system, the body is better able to adapt, heal, and thrive as it was designed.

Laura McCaughey

LMHC, LPC, SEP

Founder Life Labyrinth, Somatic Integrative Psychotherapist, menstrual cycle awareness advocate, travel bug, perpetual scholar, cat & Montessori momma

Laura is a Somatic Integrative Psychotherapist who works primarily with women across the lifespan, offering both individual and group therapy. Her practice is rooted in the understanding that our emotional experiences are inseparable from the body and nervous system. Rather than focusing solely on thoughts and words, Laura invites clients to become curious about the ways their experiences are held, expressed, and communicated through physiology.

As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), the therapeutic process is centered on the nervous system and the body’s innate wisdom. She invites women to slow down, notice what is happening within their bodies, and become curious about what their nervous system may be communicating. Together, you will gently explore sensations, emotions, patterns, protective responses, and the ways we connect with ourselves and others. Laura’s approach is collaborative, transparent, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert of your own experience. There is no requirement to force, fix, or relive difficult experiences. Instead, she gives invitations to listen to the body, honor its pace, and discover new possibilities for regulation, connection, choice, and self-trust. And while therapy can hold the hard things, Laura believes there should also be room for being playful, having fun, and cultivating joy. ..There is no wrong way to be curious!

Laura earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Western Illinois University and has over ten years of experience in mental health. Her professional experience includes nonprofit harm reduction, substance use groups with incarcerated individuals, holistic treatment settings, menstrual cycle education and advocacy, spiritual exploration, and acute crisis hospitalization. These experiences have shaped her integrative understanding of the many ways women experience themselves through their bodies, relationships, environments, and life experiences.
