What is BIRTHFIT Davenport?

BIRTHFIT Davenport is part of a large movement that is quickly growing throughout the country and world. BIRTHFIT is about women taking charge of their bodies and decisions before, during and after the Motherhood Transition. BIRTHFIT is an approach to birth that questions and educates. W are constantly reading, researching and learning so we can best assist women in attaining the best information and education available. BIRTHFIT promotes a readiness in body, mind and spirit as women prepare for conception, birth and postpartum. BIRHTFIT, as a whole, consists of practitioners, educators, chiropractors, coaches, nutritionists, fellow mamas, men and women who are involved in our local communities, and we are all here to support YOU! Our pillars are fitness, nutrition, chiropractic and mindset.

BIRTHFIT Mission

To cultivate awareness and enhance education throughout the Motherhood Transition by developing and producing one of a kind BIRTHFIT experiences through in-person classes and distance learning so that the woman ahs the space to make her own informed, intuitively guided choices.

BIRTHFIT Postpartum Series: Breath & Flow

This is a four week class that focuses on breath, core and pelvic floor rehab, and connection! The class will include functional breathing, intentional movements, celebrating our strong bodies that have grown/birthed beautiful babies and creating a community of mamas for love and support. This class is appropriate for anyone who is at least four weeks postpartum.

Objectives for the Postpartum Series: Breath & Flow include learning:

  • Diaphragmatic breathing.
  • How to create intra-abdominal pressure.
  • To properly and consciously re-establish functional movement patterns that translate to daily movements.
  • To heal emotionally from both the highs and lows of labor and delivery and any associated trauma (this will very well continue into the next twelve months).
  • To nourish your mind, body, and soul with nutrient dense foods, positive thoughts and supportive environments that lift up you and your choices.

BIRTHFIT Postpartum Series

In this eight-session group training series, you will: honor your postpartum body, establish a solid core foundation, wake up your posterior chain, join a tribe of mamas in the community and enhance your posture through safe, effective functional movements that transfer into everyday life tasks. This class is appropriate for anyone who is at least six weeks postpartum and has been cleared by their care provider.

Objectives for the Postpartum Series include learning:

  • Diaphragmatic breathing.
  • How to create intra-abdominal pressure.
  • To properly and consciously re-establish functional movement patterns that translate to daily movements.
  • To heal emotionally from both the highs and lows of labor and delivery and any associated trauma (this will very well continue into the next twelve months).
  • To nourish your mind, body, and soul with nutrient dense foods, positive thoughts and supportive environments that lift up you and your choices.

BIRTHFIT Prenatal Series

In four 3-hour group sessions, you and your birth partner will become educated and prepared for birth. During our time together, mom and her birth partner will explore options available to her and her baby as well as discussion specific to the Quad Cities Area. This is a comprehensive childbirth education class for mom and partner.

Objectives for the Prenatal Series include:

  • What is BIRTHFIT?
  • Take a look at the birth history in America and understand that birth in America is business.
  • Learn exercises such as the two-minute drill so that you can practice.
  • Get clear on your birth desires and values and mission statement.
  • Get clear on your expectations so that you can set up your environment and birth team.
  • Learn about the labor and delivery processes, including common protocols and medical reasons for induction as well s common practices in our area.
  • Learn major risk factors for damage to the pelvic floor.
  • Discuss and learn how you can integrate emotional essential for birth.
  • Get pen to paper for a postpartum plan and resources for rehabbing your postpartum body.

 

BIRTHFIT Basics Consultations

Whether you are a first time mom or this is your second (or third or fourth) pregnancy, you may have questions about your pregnancy, movements, workout suggestions, nutrition, labor, delivery or postpartum. The BIRTHFIT Basics Consultation is for you! Explore new strategies in a personal setting.

This consultation is not meant to replace any advice of your health care provider, nor will it give you a medical prescription, medical advice, or a diagnosis.  BIRTHFIT Davenport is here to educate and support you as you take an active role in your pregnancy and/or postpartum.
