What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a holistic health care profession based in the examination of the biomechanics, structure and function of the spine, along with its effects on the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Chiropractors strive to optimize health using a hands-on, non-invasive approach that does not utilize medicine or surgery. Although practitioners may use a variety of treatment approaches, they primarily perform adjustments to the spine and other parts of the body with the goal of correcting alignment problems, alleviating pain, improving function and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Chiropractors are trained in medical and chiropractic examination, medical diagnosis, hands-on and instrument adjusting, rehabilitative exercises, and nutrition and lifestyle counseling. This training allows them to evaluate, treat and advise every patient very specifically and personally in order to promote optimal health.

Prenatal/Postpartum Chiropractic with Dr. Sara of Health in Motion & BIRTHFIT Davenport
Dr. Sara is passionate about caring for and educating women throughout the Motherhood Transition. She has taken additional training to become Webster Technique certified as well as a BIRTHFIT Professional and Regional Director. Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment technique that has the goal of balancing the bones and soft tissues of the pelvis. This balance helps to relieve many discomforts in pregnancy, reduces intra-uterine constraint to give baby optimal positioning during labor and delivery, and can help mom have an easier postpartum recovery. Dr. Sara’s real passion is working with postpartum women as they rehab following pregnancy and birth. She sees so many women struggle with symptoms (such as incontinence and back pain) that they are told are normal when in actuality, there are so many things we can do to help these common (NOT NORMAL) symptoms.
