“Specific birth positions can now be intelligently chosen. Oddly enough, the understanding of the three levels of the pelvis has never been systematized before. Nurses, midwives, and now doctors, are adapting this simple and sensible approach to a variety of birth situations, including posterior and breech births.”
Developed by midwife Gail Tully, these techniques offer practical work for your body to birth naturally in today’s modern civilization. You will learn to move your body with intention while it changes almost daily during pregnancy. Habitual movements throughout the day and while we sleep can create imbalances in our bodies. These activities are perfectly designed to balance the soft tissue surrounding the pelvis during pregnancy and labor. Learn tips for flipping breech or malpositioned babies in pregnancy to avoid a cesarean section.
You will learn the 3 sisters of balance, “Rest Smart”, “Move Smart”, and The Daily Essentials. Learning how your body changes and where baby is can significantly reduce the fear of the unknown of pregnancy and childbirth. You can control your labor by using movement, balance, and gravity, reducing the need for medical interventions. Parents across the globe are using these techniques . . . and they’re working! Spinning Babies® is Changing Birth on Earth.
Susan McLoone is the only Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner and Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator in the Quad Cities. Since becoming a birth doula and yoga instructor she has used Spinning Babies techniques with every prenatal client. These techniques are perfectly designed to balance the soft tissue surrounding the pelvis during pregnancy and labor that easily gets out of whack with normal daily activities.
There is a symbiotic relationship between baby and mother through movement and it’s the baby’s role in labor to “spin and rotate” through the soft and bony structure of the pelvis. By keeping in mind the philosophy of “physiology before force” you can allow baby to maintain that role and invite them to move into the best position in your body. This helps to facilitate ease of labor and potentially eliminate or lessen the need for medical interventions like c-sections.
