At Motherhood Matters, we offer a variety of yoga classes, both in a group or private setting. Our yoga classes offer a chance for you to connect with yourself and your baby in a community of supportive, dynamic women. Designed for prenatal, postpartum, and beyond, we offer classes for every skill level and stage in your life. No prior yoga experience required.
Our Prenatal yoga program, with Roberta of Born to Breathe and Susan of Kindred Minds, is designed to prepare your body and mind for childbirth. You will learn movements to build strength and stamina. Tap into breathing techniques to help you relax and renew. Share positive affirmations to boost your confidence and build the mental stamina needed for labor. Surround yourself with a community of beautiful pregnant mamas sharing their journey. You will feel supported, strong, empowered and ready to take on this next adventure called childbirth. You got this, mama!
Prenatal Body Balancing Classes
This class is the BEST of both worlds! Take what you learned in the Spinning Babies Parent Education class (although, not a prerequisite) and combine it with a yoga flow sequence designed to balance your changing body. Susan will use her Rebozo to give all participants a little extra love! We will use breathing and relaxation techniques to “breathe baby down.” Prepare body and mind for childbirth in this perfect compliment to prenatal yoga, Spinning Babies Parent Education class, or on it’s own!
Our Gentle yoga classes are perfect during pregnancy, to ease you back in to movement after childbirth, to address challenges with mobility, or when you are just looking for a more relaxed atmosphere. Take a moment, take a breath, take a Gentle yoga class. Because it Matters. This class is appropriate for ALL ages, genders and levels of yoga experience.
Baby and Me/Toddler and Me Yoga
Family Matters! Connect to your baby and/or toddler with yoga. At Motherhood Matters, we offer Baby and Me and Toddler and Me classes.
In the Baby and Me classes, you can wear baby or lay baby next to you. Heather teaches specialized yoga poses to help stretch out the stiff areas new moms experience while caring for a baby. Including baby also helps boost the baby’s physical strength, while improving sleep and digestion. The perfect developmental stage for this class is 6 weeks to crawling circles around the mat! When your little one gets a more mobile, you can graduate to Toddler and Me.
Toddler and Me yoga is a great way to connect with your ‘little’ through movement, songs, and play. Heather teaches tips and tricks to incorporate yoga and movement into a child’s day, all while inspiring imagination and creativity in toddlers! The perfect age for this class is beginning walkers to age 5.
Did you know that Sara studied Ashtanga yoga in India?
Ashtanga yoga is a system of yoga that has been transmitted to the world by the Jois family in Mysore, India. This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a set series of postures that a practitioner memorizes and performs regularly. Ashtanga is an extremely well-rounded practice as it offers strength, flexibility, stamina and breath focus. The set sequence of postures has many benefits! Because the series is memorized it is easily done as a home practice or during times of travel, without the need for an electronic device or teacher to instruct. Progress in flexibility, strength, and focus can be seen more easily as each posture is performed every time a student practices. Teachers also have an opportunity to work with students more one-on-one because they do not need to lead a full class of students but rather walk around the room and assist each student where they are in the sequence.
Combining this style of yoga with Sara’s incredible knowledge of anatomy and functional movement makes this a perfect opportunity for you to learn and grow in your yoga practice. Go in deep with this one!

We will create a series of movements designed just for you to practice in the studio and on your own, if that’s your jam.
