It can be helpful for:
Think of it like giving your body a very specific signal that says:
“Hey, this area still needs attention.”
The goal for our patients is not to simply cover up symptoms.
The goal is to help your body actually repair and remodel the tissue.
Sometimes pain isn’t just coming from the joint itself. Sometimes it’s coming from deeper irritation in the tissue. Old injuries. Scar tissue. Tendons that never fully healed. Areas that feel tight, stuck, weak, or constantly aggravated no matter how much you stretch, foam roll, or rest.
That’s where focused shockwave therapy with the PiezoWave can be incredibly helpful.
Dr. Sara uses PiezoWave to help stimulate healing without injections, medications, or surgery in areas that have often been “stuck” for months or even years.
One of the biggest reasons people stay stuck in pain is because the tissue problem and the movement problem are both feeding each other.
That’s why Dr. Sara loves to combine PiezoWave with:
It’s not about temporary pain relief, it’s about helping your body move and function better long term.
Sessions are typically about 10 to 15 minutes long, depending on the area being treated.
A small handpiece is used to deliver focused sound pulses into the tissue. Most people describe the sensation they feel as a deep pulsing or tapping. Some areas can feel more sensitive than others, especially if the tissue has been irritated for a long time.
You may feel sore afterward, similar to how you might feel after a workout or deep tissue work, but that response is normal and is often a sign that the tissue is responding.
There’s no downtime after and most patients return to normal daily activity right away.
Some patients notice changes quickly while others need a series of treatments depending on how long the issue has been going on and how the tissue has adapted over time.
We will always talk through your goals, expectations, and treatment plan together so you know exactly what to expect.
